Brother?
[edit]constructed by George England (1922) Ltd, in whose name it was entered into the competition. George was Gordan's brother. I think that the company was actually named for his father George, not his brother. MilborneOne (talk) 13:03, 3 July 2011 (UTC)
- There's a little on the company here but nothing on which George. Only Gordon on the board. Best for now that I delete the second sentence. CheersTSRL (talk) 19:02, 3 July 2011 (UTC)
- OK this [1] says that the original George England Ltd was his fathers garage business. Just found this flight [2] George England Ltd was formed in 1919 with G.England and ECL.England as directors. MilborneOne (talk) 19:27, 3 July 2011 (UTC)
- Seems fairly sure, so I've added a Note. I wondered, incidentally, if there was any connection between the Victorian George England and the later lot but couldn't get far back, though the earlier direct line died out rapidly. There are no George or Gordon Englands (apart from kings!) in the Oxford National Biography.TSRL (talk) 15:03, 5 July 2011 (UTC)
