After reviewing my schematics for the Gonset Communicator III the statement about the transmit/receive function is controlled by the switch on the front, but not the microphone is not 100% accurate. While I have not checked the other models, the PTT switch the microphone (tip and sleeve connections) as well as transmit position of the transmit/receive switch both de-energize Relay 1 and Relay 2 placing the radio into the transmit mode. In fact, a microphone modification is required if the user does not wish to use the PTT function as most microphones mute when the PTT switch is out. Kb3pxr (talk) 19:26, 16 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
