The golden gaytime icecream is an australian cultural icon. It is definantly notable.

Many australians experience conflict when considering perchase of a golden gaytime, having to weigh up its homosexual connotations with its Tasty honeycomb covered in chocolate and dusted with biscut. This very senario is detailed in the song by the Bedroom Philosopher - Golden gaytime.

I will try to expand this article a bit, after i go get me a golden gaytime :) --Dinny McGee 01:58, 10 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I agree, its longevity as an Australian icon (with an all but unchanged wrapper) warrants inclusion. It has been popular for a long time, and nearly all Australians are familiar with the name. Wampusaust 10:52, 23 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Aussie icon

[edit]

Definitely noteworthy.. Who flagged it as not eh? The brand with the dodgy name that’s proud to be a dodgy name regardless.. I have gay friends who get them above all other icecreams for the chuckle value.. NathanLee 18:16, 11 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Long standing vandalism

[edit]

This article seems like an obvious vandalism target now that I think about it, but it’s one of those ones which has slipped through the cracks because it isn’t often vandalised, so a small edit wasn’t noticed. There’s an opinion piece in today's ABC The Drum Unleashed in which the author, Nick Marland, highlights that his name was erroneously added to this article in 2008 as the ice cream’s inventor by a work colleague, and this “fact” has remained there ‘’for over four years’’. --Canley (talk) 22:39, 23 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
