Trillium ceased trading in the late 1990s and the Gnuspeech project was first entered into the GNU Savannah repository under the terms of version 3 of the GNU General Public License (GPL 3) in 2002, as an official GNU software.
Version 3 of GNU GPL has been published in 2007. 81.102.140.133 (talk) 10:02, 16 February 2009 (UTC)
What is the criteria for notability of articles about software? For example, FreeTTS doesn't have notability issues. Usually essential information (like history) about software don't come from third party sources. Maybe it is not clear in the article, but Gnuspeech was the first commercial articulatory speech synthesizer. — Preceding unsigned comment added by X8751 (talk • contribs) 15:32, 8 March 2020 (UTC)
Message moved from article
[edit]The following message has been added to the top of the article by T33guy. I am moving it here, where it belongs.
There was a proposal to delete header here. I have removed the proposal to delete message as I believe the article has historical notability, since the system described was the first articulatory, real-time, text-to-speech system in the world when it first ran in 1994. I hope to discuss with other Wickipedians what deficiencies are present, and deal with them over the next little while (thank you people).
