TLS 1.2

Fair use rationale for Image:Gnutls-logo.png
[edit]Image:Gnutls-logo.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 04:19, 5 June 2007 (UTC)
GNU TLS is a GNU project, thus everything in it (including the logo) is covered by a GNU Licence which specifies free and unrestricted distribution. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 62.38.100.60 (talk) 20:52, 15 May 2008 (UTC)
Primary author?
[edit]The changelogs for GnuTLS going from ftp://ftp.gnu.org/gnu/gnutls/ show that Simon did 85-90% of the commits before 3.0; dropping to 20% in the 3.0 changelog. I see the note at the bottom of the topic citing Nikos as the primary author, but see no WP:RS supporting this. TEDickey (talk) 14:10, 13 January 2013 (UTC) (The numbers in my comment are from a script which I use for auditing changelogs - not a guess) TEDickey (talk) 14:13, 13 January 2013 (UTC)
- I've set the EXT links to the original titles in the links, which should help avoid this issue. Widefox; talk 12:33, 21 March 2013 (UTC)
Data security
[edit]While a knowlegable WP:RS (third-party-sourced—no WP:OR, anonymous blogs or forum comments wanted) paragraph on GnuTLS security issues might be interesting, a vague comment about one of many CVEs for GnuTLS pointing to the well-marked subpage of the program's homepage doesn't do anyone any good. TEDickey (talk) 10:17, 5 March 2014 (UTC)
- A WP:RS describes [1] a security flaw notable enough to amend the article. DRLB (talk) 15:16, 6 March 2014 (UTC)
- That's an improvement, though as usual, balanced treatment requires multiple sources for things that are potentially controversial. TEDickey (talk) 19:43, 6 March 2014 (UTC)
External links modified
[edit]Hello fellow Wikipedians,
I have just modified one external link on GnuTLS. Please take a moment to review my edit. If you have any questions, or need the bot to ignore the links, or the page altogether, please visit this simple FaQ for additional information. I made the following changes:
- Added archive https://web.archive.org/web/20160107175153/http://article.gmane.org/gmane.comp.lang.smalltalk.gnu.general/7873 to http://article.gmane.org/gmane.comp.lang.smalltalk.gnu.general/7873
When you have finished reviewing my changes, you may follow the instructions on the template below to fix any issues with the URLs.
