[edit]No, it is not a "pastoral refuge": it is neither pastoral, nor a refuge. Gnomes do not "go missing": They don't "go" anywhere. It is not "also home to pixies": Mythical creatures do not have homes.
Rather, this is a kitschy tourist attraction. Occasionally, statues are stolen or otherwise lost. As for the pixies, I'm guessing there are also other garden decorations there. Otherwise, it's a case for professional help.
As there is an "in use" tag in place, I'll wait a bit before trying to clean this up. - SummerPhD (talk) 21:54, 24 August 2013 (UTC)
- I agree. I didn't see your comment, so have done some minor tidying up myself - am happy for it to be tidied further. Ghmyrtle (talk) 13:36, 28 August 2013 (UTC)
Ann Atkin interview
[edit]The quote from Ann Atkin comes from a blacklisted site, so I can't link to it directly. It can be located by googling "ann atkin" bardofely. Ghmyrtle (talk) 13:35, 28 August 2013 (UTC)
"Gnomes with knives on their backs"???
[edit]It says here, with no explanation whatsoever, "The reserve has refused to sell gnomes with knives on their backs." There's a link to Yorkshire Evening Post, but it's dead, and even if it wasn't, why should readers have to visit another website in order to understand the article they're reading on this one? And what does it even mean? Is it a typo for "knives in their backs"? Why won't this tourist attraction sell them? Are gnomes with knives on or in their backs a best-selling item elsewhere? I've never seen one! Come on, Wikipedia, I know you're only an overgrown blog that self-identifies as transencyclopedic, but you need to try a bit harder to pretend to be a real encyclopedia if you want people to pretend to believe you really are one! 86.130.233.219 (talk) 14:29, 29 March 2025 (UTC)
