Merger discussion
[edit]So, as you can see above I have closed the afd with a result to merge, with a target to be determined by further discussion here. Possible targets mentioned there included:
I think that's all of them but of course any other suggestions are also on the table. So now's the time to discuss which of these targets the article should be merged to, all that is left after that is to actually merge it. Thoughts? Beeblebrox (talk) 17:47, 3 May 2013 (UTC)
- I'll have a good think about this, but is should at least be mentioned in all of them. My gut feeling without thinking it through too much is for Eon, I'll get back in a while with some more considered opinion. Cheers - SchroCat (talk) 18:14, 3 May 2013 (UTC)
- Concur with SchroCat. "Eon" seems best match. Though I suspect it does not warrant mention elsewhere. - Fantr (talk) 22:11, 6 May 2013 (UTC)
- I'm quite happy to leave it to you, but if it were left me to I probably would have bunged it in the Dr No legacy section since it was directly related to the 50th anniversary of that film. Betty Logan (talk) 02:37, 7 May 2013 (UTC)
- Excellent point. Perhaps the Dr No legacy section is the best way to go for a re-direct. I'll defer to SchroCat and Betty Logan on this. - Fantr (talk) 18:25, 7 May 2013 (UTC)
- I think a passing mention of it in Skyfall (song) is fine, as the song was released on that day (and the limited coverage we have on that page is fine as it stands). That gives a toss-up for the re-direct to either Eon or Dr. No (legacy section), both of which seem to be fairly equally "right" to house the info... Beeblebrox, any thoughts from a neutral as to which would be more appropriate of the two? - SchroCat (talk) 13:17, 7 May 2013 (UTC)
- It looks like the consensus is moving towards Dr. No (film)#Legacy and I'm happy with that too. - SchroCat (talk) 18:28, 7 May 2013 (UTC)
- This day is associated with two movie releases. Why not Eon Productions? I was considering James Bond in film, but I second that idea. Sidelight12 Talk 10:19, 8 May 2013 (UTC)
- A couple of comments:
- I arrived at this page because {{merge|date=May 2013}} is a malformed merge template, which was flagged by the console report of my Merge bot. Proper syntax would be to have five {{merge to}} tags on Global James Bond Day, and one {{merge from}} tag on each of the five articles listed at the top of this section. Only use the plain {{merge}} tag when there is doubt or no consensus on the direction of the merge. It seems clear that nobody wants to merge one of the other five articles into this stub.
- Skyfall (song) is currently the only article that links here and prevents this stub from being eligible for an orphan tag. -- Wbm1058 (talk) 11:57, 9 May 2013 (UTC)
- I can't say I'm particularly concerned about either of those issues. SchroCat asked me if I would like to just step in and pick an option since everyone here seemed not to have a real strong opinion and he volunteered to make sure it was mentioned wherever appropriate, so I picked the Dr. No option. And on that note I suppose we're done here. Beeblebrox (talk) 18:38, 9 May 2013 (UTC)
- Super. On behalf of wp:WikiProject Merge, I thank y'all for the quick resolution which didn't add to the merge backlog. Wbm1058 (talk) 22:05, 9 May 2013 (UTC)
