Removal of notability maintenance template

[edit]

I have added references to beef up the documentation as requested by the maintenance template. Mr Carr is mentioned in every refrenced media stories used for this page and for the Rosslare Europort page. Mr Carr has given numerous tv and other media interviews. The closure of French ports to vessels from Britain on 20 December 2020 higlighted the strategic importance to Ireland of the Rosslare Europort direct routes to the European continent and the importance of the role played by Mr Carr in increasing the sailings from Rosslare to Continental Europe by 500 per cent from 2 January 2021. The Stena Line advanced plans to start their extra sailings in December 2020 at Mr Carr's urgent request. Without Rosslare Europort, Irish industry would have been almost entirely cut off as ferry services from other irish ports (such as Dublin and Cork) to the European mainland are very limited. I think he meets two of the the notability criteria (news and newspapers but not books or scholar).

I therefore propose removing the the maintenance template concerning notability. Other opinions? MarkHarper1 (talk) 01:47, 29 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

This article was redirected to Rosslare Europort. Glenn Carr has been the subject of countless articles and media onterviews as he ois widely recognised as being the saviou of Rosslare. The notability criterion was discussed. It is not correct to redirect without incoorporating the important features of the old article into the new article. I doubt that the editor who did the redirect has read the sources. HarleyQuinn2020 (talk) 21:23, 20 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
