Issues with the article

1. Media Imperialism This article really caught my eye because it is a keen illustration of the kind of misinformation that is routinely spawned in countries often accused of being 'imperialists'; in this case we would be dealing with 'media' imperialism. Surely it is not a good idea to have the members of one country write the histories of another? Or members of a dominanant ideology presenting only their version of events?

2. Source Material Also, because I'm a new user, I'm very surprised that Wikipedia allows newspaper articles to be considered as 'sources'. That is laughable, and a first year course in Research101 will educate members as to the dangers of using the media as a source. The media is only a source of media myths that are current, and myths that are part of a culture's tradition. At the very least, an opinion piece that is used as a 'source', should be clearly marked as a source.

3. Discrimination and Stereotyping Is there a reason why the subject of the article is included in a category called 'White South Africans'? Is there a similar category for 'Black South Africans"? Perhaps we should also add a category 'German Jews' or perhaps one called 'Targets of possible genocide despite their original liberal views'? The writers of this article need to read Amnesty Internationals information on the typical '8 Steps to Genocide' which might better inform their selection of information, which - at the moment - is extremely prejudicial.

The Glenn Babb in the article does not exist in reality except in the (possibly media-fed) imagination of the writers of the articles. The Glenn Babb that exists in reality was a tireless advocate of human rights, of finding the Best Way Forward and of using the existing system to effect peaceful change. You would never guess that looking at the 'facts' presented in the article, though. The article literally presents him as 'just another white South African'.

4. Do not leave it in the article while you request a source. Do not move it to the talk page. WikiProject South Africa assessment

CBC Radio Interview

Babb was interviewed by Michael Enright on CBC's Sunday Morning on 13 Jan 2013. I met Babb several times last time I was in Cape Town. Charming man - made out to be a racist by nutters.
