Hey Glen Canyon folks. I am researching the Echo Park and Split Mountain Dam controversy. The "trade" if there was one, was to build Flaming Gorge Dam instead of the Echo Park and Split Mountain dams. No one was thinking about Glen Canyon Dam. As such I would like to make changes to the text in the page as follows:
remove: Lake Powell was the result of negotiations over the controversial damming of the Green River within Dinosaur National Monument, a project which was abandoned in favor of the Glen Canyon Dam.
replace with : While Flaming Gorge Dam was built as an alternative to the proposed Echo Park and Split Mountain dams within Dinosaur National Monument, Glen Canyon lacked any protection as either a National Park or Monument. Without that protection to save Glen canyon, Glen Canyon Dam was authorized and constructed.
Thoughts? Thank you for your consideration, RRFWTommartin (talk) 04:59, 25 December 2018 (UTC)
