Odd phrasing in measurements

[edit]

"These gulls range from 55 to 77 cm (22 to 30 in) in length and can span 132 to 170 cm (52 to 67 in), with some specimens possibly attaining 182 cm (72 in), across the wings."

Since "span" can mean a number of things I think this refers to wingspan so:

...length, with a wingspan of 132 to 170 cm ... possibly attaining a wingspan of 182 cm...

With a max, combined wing chord of 100 cm a total wingspan of 170 cm sounds about right
