Taking OUT a reference (that I put in) to La Traviata being composed here. La Traviata was first performed in March 1853. The Villa was built in 1853. I can find no mention in letters of a visit to Lake Como by Verdi early in 1853. It is highly unlikely that the Villa would have been completed anyway. The following Reference is likely to be wishful thinking. Verdi may have composed other arias a this house, but I await information from original letters or other sources. [1]

Composer

[edit]

Ricordi was also a talented composer, judging from this: www.youtube.com/watch?v=XvjmD8czaGI Paulwilliam2 (talk) 21:15, 17 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Half written?

[edit]

Good start, but where's the fuller section on his relationship with Puccini and his final years and death? Maybe it can be borrowed from a longer entry in Italian or French wikis? GBS2 (talk) 09:09, 11 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
