[edit]It is wrongful to confuse Gitanjali, a poetry of 157 Bengali lyrics with Song Offerings of 103 poems collected from 11 books, inclduing Gitanjali, in English translaiton. Such an identification of Gitanjali is misleading for general readers.Faizul Latif Chowdhury (talk) 12:08, 16 March 2008 (UTC)
Cross-reference?
[edit]Does a cross-reference list exist, showing which texts are taken from which book? If so, could this be posted online somewhere, so that it can be linked here? In Dutch both the English and Bengali versions of the Gitanjali have been translated, and it's a bit confusing indeed, as both books have the same title, and it seems to me that only if you go deeper into it, you can find out the similaraties... Copyvio
[edit]Section Poems contained copyvio from book "Critical Response To Indian Poetry In English", pp. 87-88. --Alex-engraver (talk) 07:10, 26 August 2012 (UTC)
- That's mainly a poem has been quoted, do you mean the English text (1 line) and translation)? --Tito Dutta ✉ 11:27, 26 August 2012 (UTC)
- Sorry, I was not clear. I mean text I removed, see diff [1]. --Alex-engraver (talk) 17:47, 26 August 2012 (UTC)
External links urgently need work
[edit]I'm new to Tagore, and I read English but not any of the South Asian languages. I went to External Links in this article, but didn't find what I wanted. This link gives a Page Not Found error. Another link is ad-supported, and is to an English edition of Song Offerings; it has 103 poems, and the introduction by Yeats. However, the table of contents indicate that all of the poems are "Gitanjali", which those of you who know Tagore's work may find unsatisfactory. Wikipedia has a separate article "Song Offering" - I haven't yet studied it; I might find a decent working link there. Oaklandguy (talk) 03:34, 27 June 2016 (UTC)
