Original name
[edit]I don't care what Hansard says - the original name was Post Office Giro. I know because I was among the first account holders. Biscuittin (talk) 16:19, 1 October 2010 (UTC)
- Here is a reference [1]. From the date (17 Nov 1971) it seems that the name change from Post Office Giro to National Giro was made after 1971. Biscuittin (talk) 16:33, 1 October 2010 (UTC)
First interest bearing current account?
[edit]I notice that it is also claimed that the Co-Operative were the first bank to offer an interest bearing current account (in 1982) which I believe is correct, and The Guardian article claiming Girobank was the first is wrong. My recollection as a Girobank customer at the time is that Girobank didn't offer an interest bearing current account (the 'Keyway' account) until 1990. This would actually make Girobank one of the last UK banks to offer an interest bearing current account rather than the first. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.112.26.208 (talk) 08:59, 23 April 2011 (UTC)

Clearing cycle
[edit]What is meant by a 'three-five-day clearing cycle'? Should the article say 'three to five day clearing cycle'? VBasak (talk) 22:33, 1 January 2023 (UTC)
- Quite likely that's what was meant, but since that sentence wasn't in the given source I removed it. Wire723 (talk) 16:24, 2 January 2023 (UTC)
