Page issues

[edit]

After doing some searching to improve the article, I found the following issues:

  • Number of tournaments playedtodor66.com seems to be the only source for tournaments played before 2002, and cites the 2004 edition as being the 6th. The tournament organizer (CAVB), claims the 2004 edition was the 7th (CAVB). Need more sources showing the years (beforw 2002) in which the tournament was played.
  • 2010 – At todor66.com, a 2010 Girls's African Championship is listed as hosted and won by Tunisia, however by accessing the link to the tournament the location (Cairo) and winner (Egypt) are different and all the dates, results, location and winner are exactly the same as the CAVB Youth Olympic qualification. The Tunisian Volleyball Federation site (in French) claims to have won a 2010 Girls' African Championships (Palmarès de l’Equipe Nationale Cadettes filles, which means Awards of the Youth Girls' National Team in French). According to the CAVB, the African Qualification tournament for the Youth Olympic Games took place that year in Cairo, but there is no mention or recognition of it also being a Girls' African Nations Championships tournament. Apart from todor66.com and the Tunisian Volleyball Federation, I can't find any sources citing an African Championships that year, and if there was one Egypt wasn't the winner (as per CAVB, Egypt won their 4th consecutive title in 2016 after the wins of 2011, 2013 and 2014).

Suggestion: Remove the 2010 tournament from the table as the one listed now was clearly a Youth Olympics qualification tournament and not officially recognized as an African Championships, unless if more sources can be found proving an African Championships tournament ever took place in that year. Your feedback / ideas are very appreciated. Thanks, 94.208.106.53 (talk) 15:35, 23 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
