Problems

[edit]

This article fails to identify the subject as a memetic phrase—it instead uses it in wiki voice to describe a supposed behavior among young women, which does not reflect reliable sources. Its tone is essayistic. Zanahary 19:43, 17 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Also, it uses Know Your Meme as a source without giving us any way to verify that Know Your Meme actually said that, thus violating WP:V and WP:KNOWYOURMEME at the same time. --Guy Macon Alternate Account (talk) 00:45, 18 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Single source for a whole section

[edit]

The whole section "Effect of gender stereotypes" relies on a single source, specifically a paper from a conference (see WP:ACADREP). I cannot judge whether the source is reliable or unbiased, but I can see there are extremely few hits on Google for the conference series. The paper itself presents the analysis of 8 (!) posts from Tik Tok and X, of which 4 are for the somewhat unrelated topic of "boy math".

All of this might also contribute to the issues of tone and original research mentioned in comments above and in the page. I have added the template for now, but I would suggest removing the whole section. Marcello Pas (talk) 20:44, 7 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
