Sonnie Gibbard is a great man but who was his mother?

[edit]

Sonnie Gibbard who lost his father young as in WW2 his father had refused to surrender to the Japanese and was killed. Sonnie who was the eldest son had to provide for his family became stuntman for Burt Lanchester at approx' 16 yrs of age. After a few years made enough income to provide for his family so he decided to joined the army where the recruiting office was just across the road from where he lived at the time

He went on to fight in the Korean War where I believe he was bombed by the Americans in friendly fire. Repaired from this he carried on serving in the army where he was recruited into the SAS special forces. During patrol in Burma with his sergent and a team of Gurkhas they were ambushed by gorilla terrorists and were gunned down. Sonnie being shot up and thought dead by his attackers with the will to survive managed to crawl miles through jungle carrying his dead sergent with him back to camp. He could not remember the journey due to loss of blood etc but upon coming to in hospital was able to lay a reaf on his sergents grave. whilst doing so he had a feeling that this is where his father was buried. Sure enough upon looking it up he was also able to lay a reef for his father.

When coming out of the army he had seen so much action that the goverment decided him not fit for public life and pinned a murder on him. Whilst in prison he found Christianity which changed his life and ways and he in time was release into public life where he serves God. He is now also the president of the Gypsy council where he represent travellers for educateion and better rights etc. He also travels around Europe speading the Gospel.

I understand that Sonnie is the Grandson of Rodney Smith and I have heard him say it but who was his Mother? obviously his Mother was a daughter of Rodney.

Sonnie Gibbard cannot be a grandson of 'Gipsy' Smith, who had only one daughter, Rhoda Zillah Smith, who married a man called Lean. Hence her children, the grandchildren of 'Gipsy', were also called Lean. I am going to remove this claim from the article until it is substantiated with references and sources. Likewise I have removed this: "A descendant of 'Gipsy' Smith is Reverend David Roualeyn Findlater Bain (or Reverend Roly Bain), who is a "liturgical clown for all seasons." He travels extensively every year, sharing the Gospel in his own unique way." as it is unreferenced. If anyone has a reference and can explain how Bain is related to Smith it can go back.
