Orthography

While far less common than "Rotherdale", the spelling "Rutherdale" for his middle name appears too frequently to be a mere typo. That spelling appears in his 1884 marriage notices and (for both him and his son) in six Victorian Census returns; a similar number of Census returns had "Rotherdale". His architect brother William McMinn named his house "Rutherdale". Doug butler (talk) 16:03, 31 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
