Working on it

Hey Beetstra - I just read the Wikipedia guidelines about ignoring all the rules and how Wikipedia is not censored. I'm working on this page, but rather than giving me time to add and delete items, so keep deleting them for me. How is that not being censored. I would be happy to add as many third party items as you would like if you would allow me to add them.—Preceding unsigned comment added by Megan5522 (talkcontribs)

I do. You can edit, and are you sure that you read the policies and guidelines I left on your talkpage, or only this two (well, one is actually just a small part of a very big one). --Dirk Beetstra T C 21:59, 13 August 2009 (UTC)

Is this the only page your looking at? I gave you a valid web address, one that is a non-bias link and you deleted it yet again. Have you checked out the link I sent you? Go pick on them for awhile. I'm a new wiki user and I'm reading as I'm editing, but you delete it as soon as I add it. I think you're abusing your power.--Megan5522 (talk) 22:21, 13 August 2009 (UTC)

Can you please review the references I have added and consider removing some of my warnings. I will continue to review the guidelines and add more established and appropriate content tomorrow. I think I have shown at least a few third party publications. Thank you. --Megan5522 (talk) 22:48, 13 August 2009 (UTC)

I have, and I have cleaned them up (which mainly means in this case, that I have combined the same references into one). It looks really much better than the version I had to delete (which was too promoting in language). Thanks for the hard work!
It would be good if you could find some information which is not published by the company itself. News items, other organisations would be good for this. Especially for the 'in the news' remark, there must be somewhere a publication that announces that that was going to happen, or maybe a review afterwards. --Dirk Beetstra T C 09:57, 14 August 2009 (UTC)

Is there an article you can link me to that shows me how to make the reference list like you did? It does look cleaner and I'm willing to do that, but I don't know how and I can't tell from the code how you did it. Thanks. I will be adding more content, but I will strive to make it relevant and unbias, I just ask that I'm given time to add the references in - seemed like yesterday you were working faster than I was. Thanks again. --64.90.127.38 (talk) 15:02, 14 August 2009 (UTC)--Megan5522 (talk) 16:15, 14 August 2009 (UTC)

Oh also - how can I have the warning boxes at the top removed? Are those on there for a specific number of days? --64.90.127.38 (talk) 15:03, 14 August 2009 (UTC)--Megan5522 (talk) 16:15, 14 August 2009 (UTC)

I'm sorry Dirk - I messed up your reflist... not sure how I did it. I would like to fix, but not sure how. Can you help? Thanks. --Megan5522 (talk) 15:57, 14 August 2009 (UTC)

Done. Not a big problem. The article really looks better already. For how the refs work, see the footnotes guideline (and more about citations in the citation guideline). --Dirk Beetstra T C 16:18, 14 August 2009 (UTC)

Thanks Dirk - I really do appreciate it. I'm sorry I was so upset yesterday, it was just super frustrating. I think I'm getting a better grasp on it now though. I still might ask you some questions in the future though. Thanks again. --64.90.127.38 (talk) 17:39, 14 August 2009 (UTC)

You're welcome. I am sorry that I had that effect, but we do have to keep this site clean from blatant promotion. It is a choice that sometimes needs to be made: is this easy to rescue, or is deletion and a rewrite from scratch better. Here my conclusion was that the latter was better. I understand that that can be frustrating, but I hope you understand that we also have to keep an eye on the advertising aspect.
You seem knowledgeable in the field, maybe I can interest you in joining a wikiproject? See Wikipedia:WikiProject for a list. WikiProjects bring people with the same interest together (e.g. WikiPedia:WikiProject bicycle]] would have members who either like to ride the bike, and/or about technical aspects of bikes). Maybe there is one that has your interest.
Regards, and happy editing. --Dirk Beetstra T C 17:48, 14 August 2009 (UTC)

The Gilbarco Veeder-Root page still shows that it is up for deletion. When will that come down? --Megan5522 (talk) 20:58, 19 August 2009 (UTC)

Removing Primary Sources Label

I have removed all instances of Primary sources being used as a reference for this page and instead added relevant sources to make up for them. ChristopherYeun (talk) 05:12, 30 May 2013 (UTC)

Notability issue

I am quite surprised anyone would actually question the notability of this company. As a car owner who buys gas regularly, I know just from looking at the gas pumps that Gilbarco furnishes most of the software and hardware for virtually every gas pump I've used for more than 15 years. Gilbarco is responsible for some of the basic infrastructure that keeps the North American transportation grid running. Marty55 (talk) 01:57, 4 August 2013 (UTC)
