Lede

[edit]

The lede is confusing. I've not gone through the whole history to see if there's a better version to salvage, but this change made it significantly worse. --Ronz (talk) 22:58, 3 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

About the pronunciation of Gigli and the connection to Rain Man

[edit]

I'm not sure of this but shouldn't the pronunciation of Gigli be more like "JHEE-lee", as in the way you pronounce the opening sound for the French name "Jacque"?

Also, is there no documentation on the connection of this movie and Rain Man? For one thing, the stories are so similar. On top of that is the fact that originally Brest was going to be the director of Rain Man and worked extensively on its script development. In fact, there's a story where he and Dustin Hoffman met and Hoffman said he was ready to start production and Brest abruptly bailed because he didn't like the way the story had evolved. (Barry Levinson had originally only intended to produce it but stepped in at the last minute as Director as they were trying to get the movie done before the impending writer's strike.) I find it hard to believe the stories are not connected this way - does no one know of any source that verifies it? __209.179.0.121 (talk) 16:31, 14 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hello fellow Wikipedians,

I have just added archive links to one external link on Gigli. Please take a moment to review my edit. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}} to keep me off the page altogether, but should be used as a last resort. I made the following changes:

Lede makes controversial statements without sources

[edit]

The lede is not really a lede. The lede can stand without sources if and only if it summarizes the body, and the body is supported by sources. But this lede does not, and has not. The lede makes controversial assertions, not supported in the body with sources. Grammar's Li'l Helper Talk 07:44, 28 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
