There is an unexplained joke in this episode. Hawkeye sees Radar loading his breakfast tray with every available food item and asks him, "I see you ordered the hunt breakfast." Radar answers, "The hunt breakfast? What is that?" Hawkeye responds, "Forget it." The line may refer to the tradition of serving a large breakfast (more like a brunch) after a fox hunt — in Virginia, for example, there is some evidence the term has been generalized to refer to a large, late breakfast even when a fox hunt is not involved.[1]

Another possible explanation is that Hawkeye's character hails from Maine. Every year during hunting season (in the fall) many towns in Maine (and the other northern New England states) run "Hunter Breakfasts" for hunters, which usually start as early as 4 AM.
