Branding v. common nickname
[edit]Although Wikipedia doesn't operate on precedent, the situation with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is instructive here. Even though said church does not like the common term "Mormon" for its members, that's the common term, and it appears in our articles. Likewise, common nicknames for the college, like "Georgia College", will appear in the article, rather than the university's preferred branding—at least until general usage switches to the new terms. —C.Fred (talk) 01:29, 22 February 2023 (UTC)
