Age?

[edit]

If he was still alive, he would be 105 years old. We should check to see if he is still alive... — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.192.26.224 (talk) 23:04, 25 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The article was created in 2008, using the phrase: "George Washington was...". WP:BLP says that people under age 115 are to presumed living. Normally, the lede should be changed to "is", pending verification, but I'm uncomfortable doing that, as the subject seems to have been deceased by the time this article was created. I'll see if I can find anything. Joefromrandb (talk) 19:40, 21 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Not listed in Oldest people § Ten oldest living men where with his birthdate he'd be 8th on the list. Extremely unlikely he's alive now as he would be notable for that alone. Geraldo Perez (talk) 00:51, 15 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Allmusic gives birth year as 1910 and I updated the article. Still we should leave out any mention of age and presume deceased per original comments here and how article was originally written. Geraldo Perez (talk) 03:11, 23 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
