To-do list for George O'Leary:
Priority 4

University of Central Florida (POV edit?)
[edit]Is the recent edit by 71.100.3.222 in this section NPOV? I don't know much of anything about football so can't tell; but it seems like it might not be.
It was a removal of a non-NPOV that was believed to have been applied by an obsessed fan of a "perceived" rival school.
- What about it doesn't seem NPOV about it? Looks ok to me. M412k 02:41, 25 November 2006 (UTC)
POV Edits/Propaganda/Deleting of Facts
[edit]Footballdaddy67: Please stop deleting the linked references to O'Leary's record in comparison with Kruczek. It's a proven fact that needs to be here in light of the nature of O'Leary's job and his contract. Wikipedia is not intended to be a publicity vehicle for UCF Athletics, but a source for factual information. In the interest of keeping this vein, please cease with the highly POV edits, particularly in regards to South Florida. I've requested moderation on this topic.
- The comparison of Kruczek and O'Leary would be better suited for a fan site. The comparison doesn't affect his life. You don't see Urban Meyer and Steve Spurrier comparisons on their wiki. This is not a football site this is supposed to be somewhat biographical. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.110.181.82 (talk) 00:15, 17 November 2009 (UTC)
University of Central Florida Ereck Plancher Controversy / Bias?
[edit]The Ereck Plancher Controversy section is written as if it has been proven factual that the Orlando Sentinel did in fact fabricate the "controversy". The opposite would appear to be the case as 2 of the 4 originally interviewed players have now come forward publicly and an in-depth investigation by the "Outside The Lines" show proposes far more specific charges of a cover-up on the part of George O'Leary, his staff and the UCF Athletic Director. It's referenced here: http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/otl/news/story?id=3672808
Should there not be a more balanced view taken in regards to the "controversy" (an 18 year old kid died, possibly due to negligence for crying out loud!) rather than the misleading implication that a nationally respected newspaper has carried out a vendetta against a proven liar?74.233.227.25 (talk) 01:43, 3 November 2008 (UTC)
Bowl Record
[edit]He coached Georgia Tech to 5 Bowls but only acted as coach in 4 of them. He left for Notre Dame after the end of the regular season. Mac McWhorter was the interim coach during the game, not O'Leary. Although the game was won with O'Leary's players there is no guarantee he would have been able to lead the team to that victory, and therefore should not be given credit for the win in terms of his bowl record.
Perhaps it should read 2-5-1* (*lead team to a bowl but did not coach in it)
or something to that tune.
His record as a head coach seems to be correct (Tech finished 8-5 that season but the record totals read 7-5 so there is no need to change that) its just his record in bowls listed under the his career highlights and the 'W' accredited to him under the bowl category in the year that he did not coach in the bowl game, I would suggest putting an asterisk next to that with an explanation of the situation that year. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.61.6.127 (talk) 22:40, 25 July 2010 (UTC)
Georgia Tech rankings contain errors
[edit]1997, Tech finished ranked 25th in the AP (http://www.cfbdatawarehouse.com/data/national_championships/ap_poll.php?year=1990). 2001, Tech also finished 24th in the AP (http://www.cfbdatawarehouse.com/data/national_championships/ap_poll.php?year=2000). —Preceding unsigned comment added by 216.96.241.210 (talk) 13:59, 3 November 2010 (UTC)
UCF Bowl Ban
[edit]I have been trying to update the information concerning the appeal of the postseason ban. It was overturned and UCF is bowl eligible for the season. I can not get the cite in the correct format. If someone can fix the error, I would appreciate it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.161.58.202 (talk) 04:37, 11 November 2013 (UTC)
