New capital

[edit]

The whole section on Andhra's new capital has just been cut. Without wanting to place undue weight on the matter, I think it is an extremely important question for Andhra Pradesh's human geography. This will have major economic and demographic implications. The discussion regarding which city got to be the capital also highlights several aspects of urbanism in Andhra Pradesh, as well as political decision-making with long-term ramifications. I don't think it should be cut outright. Perhaps this isn't the best article for that section; if not, what is? Q·L·1968 17:18, 9 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Having heard no objection, I'll restore that section. Again, I'm not insisting that everything in that section absolutely needs to be on this page, but something about the new capital really ought to be here, both in its own right and in highlighting significant themes on the urban geography of the reduced state.
