Is Sue Perkins related?

[edit]

Is Sue Geoffrey's daughter? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 51kwad (talkcontribs) 10:44, 13 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

No, they just happen to have the same name. --Ged UK (talk) 20:03, 29 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Age

[edit]

Reports of his death state he was 55. IMDb state he was born in February 1957, which would make him 51. Does anyone have more solid proof of his age?

Go with the BBC report, rather than IMDb which is not a reliable source. Vashti (talk) 21:02, 29 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
IMDB is wrong. This article has him as 42 in December 1995. And if he was in a debating society at school with Clive Anderson (born 1952) he is unlikely to be 5 years younger than him. --Escape Orbit (Talk) 21:03, 29 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Radio career

[edit]

The article states: "In 2005 he cameoed in the fourth radio series of Hitchhiker's (The Quandary Phase), as the producer of the radio show Arthur Dent worked on, essentially playing himself to Arthur's Douglas Adams." I've read this line about seventeen times, and still can't make heads nor tails of it. Arthur Dent is the fictional character in Douglas Adams' HHGTTG, and according to the above line, the author is Arthur Dent, whose main character is Douglas Adams. Which is obviously wrong. Or isn't it? George Adam Horváth (talk) 08:58, 31 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It works because Perkins originally produced Hitchhiker's Guide, - he served the same position for both (one real, one fictional). Vashti (talk) 09:02, 31 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Death

[edit]

Has his inquest begun? P Cezanne (talk) 17:25, 12 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

No. --Escape Orbit (Talk) 17:43, 12 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The article states he died of injuries, then states the coroner ruled it was natural causes. Can someone reword it, so there's no contradiction? I don't know enough about his death to accurately correct it. Best name (talk) 12:27, 7 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I second that: "Perkins died from injuries after an accident involving a lorry... The inquest ruled that Perkins had likely already died when he fell under the wheels of the lorry." They can't both be true. CulturalSnow (talk) 09:51, 8 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
