Hello. I aim to get this review done within a week from now. Steelkamp (talk) 14:06, 25 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Good article criteria

[edit]

Well written

[edit]
  • He earned a Bachelor of Science degree and Juris Doctor at Northwestern University, ... Since Northwestern University is not within Washington DC, I would change this sentence to this: He earned a Bachelor of Science degree and Juris Doctor at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, ...
    Changed. Edge3 (talk) 21:12, 1 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • During the 1964 Republican National Convention, he and Euclid Taylor, a Chicago-based attorney, served as the only two African American delegates from Illinois, representing the 1st congressional district. Since the previous mentioned person is Dawson and not Washington, I suggest changing to During the 1964 Republican National Convention, Washington and Euclid Taylor, a Chicago-based attorney, served as the only two African American delegates from Illinois, representing the 1st congressional district.
    Good catch. Fixed. Edge3 (talk) 21:12, 1 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Verifiable with no original research

[edit]

Broad in its coverage

[edit]
  • Ref 4 says Washington "Attended primary and secondary schools wherever the work of his father carried him". I recommend mentioning that in the "Personal life and early career" section.
    Added. Edge3 (talk) 21:24, 1 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • Washington supported a fair housing proposal in 1967 that prohibited real estate brokers from refusing to sell or rent African Americans, unless the property owners explicitly consented to the discrimination. This can be expanded upon. The source mentions that Washington believed a bill to prohibit the owner from discriminating would not pass.
    Expanded. Edge3 (talk) 21:24, 1 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Those are all the comments I have. Steelkamp (talk) 15:25, 30 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the feedback! I just realized that my edit summaries reference an "FAC" as opposed to a "GAN". (See [1] and [2]). I just got back home from an international vacation, and I do have an FAC currently in progress, so clearly I am jet-lagged and disoriented! ;-) Edge3 (talk) 21:28, 1 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The article looks ready to pass the review now. Good job! Steelkamp (talk) 07:53, 4 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
