The Amur Expedition work was actually conducted by Nikolai Ivanovich Boshnyak, who was Nevelskoy's subordinate

[edit]

The actual person who proved that Sakhalin is not attached to the Asian mainland was Nikolai Ivanovich Boshnyak, who was Nevelskoy's subordinate. Boshnyak and his team spent many months in the wilderness exploring the geography of the Amur region. Many of Boshnyak's assistants died in the process of researching the area, and Boshnyak himself was permanently invalided as a result of the difficult work. I am wondering if perhaps a line or a footnote mentioning Boshnyak should be added to this article?Kenmore (talk) 22:04, 14 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
