Observations

It seems that the article starts from the most general possible equation.

${\big .}{\frac {\partial \phi }{\partial t}}+\nabla \cdot f(t,x,\phi ,\nabla \phi )=g(t,x,\phi )$

In particular, the variable $\phi$ does not seem to be defined or explained. Perhaps a simpler equation or two ought to be given first before this most general equation?--Михал Орела (talk) 10:54, 4 December 2008 (UTC)

• I agree. I believe the article should start out with a nice and simple 1-D expression, and then work in the more general expression. To give context, some examples of the expression for different physical phenomena (mass, momentum, charge, etc) would also be useful. --Lacomj (talk) 23:07, 17 December 2008 (UTC)

going back to the beginning for math meaning of transport

I am Mathematician of (over 40 years), and teaching all levels Primary thru Tertiary), and I am thinking how to make this article sensible, even unto mathematics undergraduates, worldwide... In other words it is mostly untranslateable in every language known... except for some few(?) mathematicians.
