The obvious question is...
[edit]what happened to them?
- Do you mean the Stairs, or the bodies which were displayed on them? The article answers both questions: Location: It is believed that the location of the steps roughly coincides with the current Via di San Pietro in Carcere, past the ruins of the Mamertine prison. Bodies: Corpses were usually left to rot on the staircase for extended periods of time in full view of the Forum, scavenged by dogs or other carrion animals, until eventually being thrown into the Tiber. --Steerpike 12:46, 5 October 2007 (UTC)
WERE sick infants murdered at Tarpeian Rock? source?
[edit]I don't doubt it, but the linked source doesn't seem to contain a reference to children being killed here. It might be from an earlier version of the site, but archive.org isn't showing one for me. And were the disabled considered cursed by the gods?— Preceding unsigned comment added by Tabbycatlove (talk • contribs) 09:12, 11 February 2021 (UTC)
