GA Review
[edit]Article (edit | visual edit | history) · Article talk (edit | history) · Watch
Added a number of comments to the talk page. There is still a substantial amount of work which need to be done before this reaches GA status. It is a big topic and much of it needs to be concentrated on this page. ie heart burn needs to be merged to here.--Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 18:52, 14 January 2009 (UTC)
Sections the article should contain
[edit]As per Wikipedia:Manual_of_Style_(medicine-related_articles)#Diseases.2Fdisorders.2Fsyndromes these are the section the article is currently missing.
- Classification
- Signs
- Pathophysiology or Mechanism
- Prevention or Screening
- Prognosis
- Epidemiology
- History (not patient history)
- Society and culture (e.g., stigma, economics, religious aspects, awareness, legal issues)
Cheers. --Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 18:48, 14 January 2009 (UTC)
- Having all that would qualify the article as as comprehensive, thus FA. The GA criteria don't require the article to conform with the MED MOS. I think that "History", "Society and culture" don't need to be developed to full sections for a GA. Xasodfuih (talk) 11:00, 17 January 2009 (UTC)
- I have left a similar comment on the article's talk page and I do not think opportunities for merger are part of the GA criteria, (or FA criteria). Graham Colm Talk 12:23, 17 January 2009 (UTC)
Final outcome
[edit]A week have passed and significant work is still needed. The discussion is still not sufficiently broad (missing many section and important topics such as history and cancer). Issues with classification are still waiting to be addressed. Will unfortunately have to fail this GA review at this time. --Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 17:43, 20 January 2009 (UTC)
