World War II government position

[edit]

An article in the New York Amsterdam News, an African-American newspaper of the time, dated May 8, 1943, states that Gardner Cowles (without specifying whether Sr. or Jr.) was then director of the Office of War Information's domestic branch. Googling does show that it was Jr., and that he was assistant director of the OWI itself, under Elmer Davis. Milkunderwood (talk) 05:26, 15 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
