It would be great if someone could add images in addition to the sounds, that show the beginning of the work like this is done in the index of sheet music. --helohe (talk) 00:18, 28 January 2008 (UTC)
Prod declined
[edit]I've declined the prod; I don't think this would be deleted without discussion. Personally, I like the idea of merging it into List of compositions by Johann Sebastian Bach. Most lists have plenty of images, so I see no reason why a list of compositions ought not contain plenty of sounds. Hesperian 11:18, 10 September 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks, I hadn't thought about that good possibility. I have added a mergeto / mergefrom template accordingly. Fram (talk) 11:27, 10 September 2008 (UTC)
- (moved from my talk page): I hadn't thought of that - I had just asked at Commons:Administrators' noticeboard for the history to be imported, which might still be a good idea, because it would be a good start for a cross-project list of Bach audio. There is precedent for this at List of compositions by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, so I don't see why the same thing can't be done for Bach as well. Graham87 11:29, 10 September 2008 (UTC)
- I'm currently making a draft of the merger in a text editor, with the files afther the lists so the HTML isn't too messed up. Most of the merger is straightforward, but the miscellaneous pieces probably won't be. Fortunately, there are a lot of recordings of Bach on the Internet for me to use to figure out which work is in each file. Graham87 11:47, 10 September 2008 (UTC)
- OK, done, not as straightforward as I hoped but that's life. If it looks alright, the gallery page can be redirected to List of compositions by Johann Sebastian Bach. Graham87 13:44, 10 September 2008 (UTC)
- I take this edit as confirmation that everything is alright, so I'll redirect it now. I just wanted a pair of eyes to check if I'd made a huge mess of it first. Graham87 15:47, 10 September 2008 (UTC)
