Am I the only person whose breath was simply taken away by the sight of the Galeries Lafayette? That is truly one of the most amazing buildings that I think I have ever seen – for the artistry and the architectural detail and the grandeur to exist in something as ultimately mundane as a department store absolutely astounds me. This photograph in a nutshell is what keeps me opening up the Main Page on Wikipedia as the first thing I do when I turn on my computer every single morning, and what keeps me going back to the site regularly throughout the day so that I don't miss something. I do hope that someone who knows this place will expound further on this structure and the company who owns it. Shocking Blue (talk) 06:32, 1 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Well-crafted spam

[edit]

Frankly, this article reads like an advertisement for the company. It really should be removed. Writerchick48 (talk) 14:01, 1 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Language versions of this article

[edit]

I was surprised to see that there are only five language versions of this article. One of the links is to the French version, which in turn is linked to some 25 other language versions - but not this English one (so the link only works in one direction). It looks as if the English and French versions were written separately and have remained disconnected, whereas obviously they should be linked. Since I don't have the technical skills to deal with this problem, I hope someone else can. I've left the same message on the discussion page for the French article.213.127.210.95 (talk) 16:44, 10 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Merger proposal

[edit]

I propose to merge Galeries Lafayette Paris Haussmann into Galeries Lafayette. The flagship store is already covered here and there is no good reason for it to be in separate article. Both articles are small and at present much of the info is duplicated. Even the infoboxes are the same. MB 00:41, 24 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Support based on the existing articles. Though longer term, I can imagine that separate articles for Lafayette Haussmann and Lafayette Group may have merit. The article about the group will need to be significantly different. pseudonym Jake Brockman talk 20:38, 29 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
