Citizenship

[edit]

Does she really have Korean AND Colombian citizenships in addition to American? Shelter3 (talk) 13:28, 5 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, according to S. Korean law, she would automatically have dual citizenship with Colombia. Per a website of the Korean government, "If either the father or mother was a Korean national at the time of the child’s birth, the child IS A DUAL CITIZEN and the birth must be registered in Korea."
Since the U.S. recognizes dual citizenship with both Colombia and S. Korea, I don't see why she could not be a citizen of all three countries. Per an immigration attorney, "As an American, you can become a citizen of as many countries in which you can find a path to citizenship, whether by descent, investment, regular naturalization or otherwise."
