Comic book
[edit]Contrary to what this article stated and which you can now read across blogs and reviews all over the English-language Internet (because sometimes as soon as a mistake makes its way to Wikipedia it spreads all over the place) this film is not based on a comic book. The misunderstanding seems to revolve around Gainsbourg (Hors Champ), a sort of companion art book released at the same time which contains preparatory work, storyboards etc... It is not a graphic novel and the film is not based on it. Joann Sfar had detailed the whole process on his blog. Obviously it is in French but any editor who still has doubts can check on shopping sites: the book was released in December 2009, the film in January 2010. Mezigue (talk) 20:23, 3 August 2010 (UTC)
According to the director, the film was based on his comic book.Interview with Sfar. Further, the credit on the film itself says it was based on his graphic novel.Imdb page.Donmike10 (talk) 20:35, 3 August 2010 (UTC)
From the article = "Question - Having been such a lifelong fan and admirer of Serge Gainsbourg, making a movie must represent the realisation of a lifelong ambition? Joann Sfar: I don’t know [laughs]. It’s a movie based on my comic book Donmike10 (talk) 20:36, 3 August 2010 (UTC)
- I also remember this being in the credits. Anyway, please stop the edit-warring here. Debresser (talk) 21:53, 3 August 2010 (UTC)
