Name and Etymology
[edit]Could Celtic gae be cognate, with Germanic ger, both meaning "spear" ? 24.143.92.97 (talk) 04:51, 25 February 2012 (UTC)
Wouldn't "armed with javelins" and "spearmen" be two different meanings? A javelin can be used as a spear and a spear can be used as a javelin, but the implied roles are so different, I think the given translation's like saying "Armed with tomahawks, Halberdiers." 96.231.17.131 (talk) 22:10, 25 October 2012 (UTC)
Numbers
[edit]Generally roman sources are not reliable when it comes to numbers of warriors of celts. Perhaps the quotation should be removed, is there any archaeological evidence that supports it? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 46.59.62.86 (talk) 21:15, 8 November 2014 (UTC)
