praise

[edit]

too much Praising.

Agreed. I've put a number of requests for sources. Beetle B. (talk) 04:59, 19 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

praising

[edit]

i think they are Praising geo tv. it is wiki not praising room.

All Pakistani channels whether based in or outside Pakistan air programs that are critical of the government. ARY, AAJ TV, Business Plus, SUNbiz, TV ONE, CNBC Pakistan etc. are all based in Pakistan and are all critical of the government whenever there is a need.

Propaganda

[edit]

I think the page more serves as propaganda box and gola-ganda styled pamphlet of GEO rather brief and impartial informative page. 3 February 2006, 11:40 (UTC)

Some technical info please

[edit]

Can we have someone who works or woked at Geo Engineering to add technical info like equipment used at their headend. Hopefully lose this marketing garbage in the process.RadicalSatDude 14:54, 26 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Editing

[edit]

I've done a fair amount of editing in order to make the article a bit more NPOV. I agree, we need some more technical info. Help would be appreciated on that front. Thanks! Sandbreak 22:10, 17 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

What the hell happened to Fahd Hussain?

[edit]

Does anyone know if Fahd Hussain has quit Geo? If so, please update the article.

Yup.. Fahd Hussain had left Geo for ARY One World. He is now Director News of Din Raat, news channel of daily Express. Mubashir (talk) 07:21, 6 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Kamran Khan

[edit]

I am surprised at the tussle between Pakistan and Kamran Khan. Off late, his shows are subject of criticism from the government. Kamran Khan, to me, used to be a spokesperson of the Pakistan Government and particularly President Pervez Musharraf. If you study his interview to PBS

http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/shows/search/interviews/khan.html

you will notice his calculated answers are like the speeches we often hear from the President himself. Off late, Kamran Khan has changed gears and the contents of his shows are turning out to be bias against the current government. I am perplexed at the change in his journalism. What has changed in him? What has lead to this? Has GEO Television put their editorial decisions on him? I am just curious.

Cleanup needed

[edit]

Some cleanup is needed as there appears to be news articles copy-pasted from Geo TV's web site and I also notice some POV pushing Tarmo Tanilsoo (talk) 07:33, 17 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

OK, tried to clean it up, but got reverted. Since I don't want to go against WP:3RR, I will stay away from further cleanup Tarmo Tanilsoo (talk) 16:21, 18 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
The entire text in the section was inacceptably copied (verbatim!) from http://www.hindu.com/nic/geo.htm. I reinstated the short version and linked the Hindu.com article as an additional reference. |dorftrottel |humor me 18:20, 18 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Criticism Section Needs a Lot of Work

[edit]

I edited the criticism section to make it a bit more readable. The details of the May MQM killings were incomprehensible to me, and so I may have misedited it. Could someone please check on it and fix any mistakes I made? Beetle B. (talk) 04:59, 19 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Messy page

[edit]

This page really needs a cleanup. Many links were incomplete and there were some grammar mistakes. I'm gunna put a cleanup template on this. Ahmeri18 (talk) 11:26, 18 December 2007 (UTC) ........I agree, I have put an "attention required" tag to get it notified by the Project Pakistan team.Najafhaider (talk) 17:18, 10 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Does our media represents US..???

[edit]

I don't think our media speaks about us, or represent our culture, thoughts, emotions, needs, feelings and ideology of Pakistan. Some people for example MARVI SARMED, Intekhab alim, comes on these channels, and talk about gays and lesbians rights, and bash us about secularism...???? who she is ?? which class she is representing..??? who are her followers..??? but media continuously call her in their programs... WHY..???? Is it because of american invenstments in our media sector...??? i think so.. we have sold our selves..!!!!! Hacking section

[edit]

Not sure why we're highlighting a section on website hacks that the network has endured. Why do we care? Web defacement happens all the time and we don't typically cover this stuff unless there is a significant impact, like the semi-recent Sony email hacks. Without any indication of why the hacks are noteworthy, or what academic purpose is being served by including it, I propose removing it, as verifiability does not guarantee inclusion. – Few of the reasons are mentioned here: User talk:Lillyput4455#Geo TV?. What to link: "TV vs Network"? Geo Network has multiple TV channels and other brands, including Geo News, Geo Films, etc. Current name on Wikipedia, Geo TV, is a huge confusion. This has led some users to mistakenly place redirecting or wrong links in multiple TV series pages related to the subject. Geo Entertainment is an older name. See how website names the channel:

Even the bottom-line says, "Copyright © 2022 HarPal Geo - Geo Television Network - All rights reserved." A formal discussion can be made, Thanks! M.
