Notability

Does not meet WP:SOLDIER & sig RS coverage not found link, just passing mentions and / or non RS militaria literature.

No de.wiki article exists. Did not hold a significant command and topped out as Leuntnant. Successful completion of missions (sorties flown, # of enemy aircraft shot down, etc) is not part of SOLDIER. A MilHist RfC on this topic has failed to gain consensus in May of 2017:

Please also see a note at MilHist Talk Archives for background behind the redirect. In summary, per the outcome of the discussion at Notability:People on notability of Knight's Cross recipients: permalink, certain recipients were deemed non notable and WP:SOLDIER has been modified accordingly: diff. The articles of these recipients are being redirected to alphabetical lists. K.e.coffman (talk) 00:22, 29 August 2017 (UTC)

This is very disappointing that you see no value in this article that a number of people have put work into. I would assume since you have unilaterally decided to delete the article that you have deemed the fact that he is the pilot with the highest WW2 strike rate as not being a notable statistic. Maybe it would have been if it had been an American pilot. In fact he is unique in having scored more victories than missions flown in his short flying career: 71 victories in 70 missions, an achievement unlikely ever to be repeated in military history. As I say, very disappointing your view of notability is so extremely narrow and impacts on so many other people's work and interest. If you feel it lacks for reliable sources, why not try and be helpful and improve rather than destroy? Philby NZ (talk) 00:31, 1 September 2017 (UTC)
The point is not whether I see value in this article, but whether the subject is notable or not. Wikipedia had a discussion on the notability of the Knight's Cross winners and the answer was "no". There was then a discussion on the notability of flying aces, and the answer was again "no". The article cannot really be improved because the subject lacks sufficient reliable sources to build an NPOV biography. If there are concerns, I suggest discussing at Wikipedia_talk:Notability (people)#Current consensus, so that the discussion can be held in a central place.
