Page moved
[edit]I've moved the page since "Göttingen Academy of Sciences and Humanities" is the official English version of the Academy's name as per their own web pages. The German word "Wissenschaften" encompasses both sciences and the humanities. Markus Pössel (talk) 10:56, 28 May 2013 (UTC)
Renaming date, former name: EN vs. DE wikipedia
[edit]According to de:Akademie der Wissenschaften zu Göttingen#lead, the academy was renamed in 1942, and its former name was "Gesellschaft der Wissenschaften zu Göttingen". According to the English article (Göttingen Academy of Sciences and Humanities#History), it was renamed in 1939, and its former name was "Königliche Gesellschaft der Wissenschaften". Neither DE nor EN wikipedia gives a citation. While the name versions could be unified to "Königliche Gesellschaft der Wissenschaften zu Göttingen", the dates cannot. Somebody who knows should fix this. - Jochen Burghardt (talk) 19:37, 31 January 2015 (UTC)
