Furnishing music
[edit]The term "furnishing music" conveys the idea that the music has value. Like rich furnishings. The term "furniture music" makes the music sound boring, and incidental, and disposable. Like the term "wallpaper music" (music that's pleasant but not interesting, so people don't pay much attention to it). The kind of Muzak you hear in an elevator.
I strongly feel that what Satie was thinking of is much better represented by the term "furnishing music". So we should show some taste and leadership, and use that term here. 2601:600:A480:4C20:ADF6:8640:C889:CA96 (talk) 05:24, 7 May 2024 (UTC)
