Weak Intro
They were a "famous" band? If they were famous wouldn't the fame speak for itself or wouldn't the fame be illustrated elsewhere in the piece? This is an extraordinarily amateurish way to commence an entry in an “encyclopedia” —Preceding unsigned comment added by 202.161.131.70 (talk • contribs) 13:44, 24 June 2007
What kind of question is that listed above???? Well, the fame of this band is certainly not determined by those who obviously never listened to their music, as this person seems to demonstrate. Quite frankly, their fame does more than just speak for itself. Go anywhere the planet and one can find tons of fans...
- He's just questioning the need to call them "famous" in the intro. There are hundreds of bands of much greater fame than Funkadelic (my second-favourite American band of all time!), and none of them have Wikipedia articles that begin "The Beatles were a famous band..." or "Santana were a famous band..." or etc. As you yourself said, their fame speaks for itself! The Funk Music Listeners
"The last album, The Electric Spanking of War Babies, was released in 1981, and has a very good reputation among the funk music listeners despite the fact that it yielded no hit singles." This is the quality of writing that makes Wilipedia famous!! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 202.161.131.70 (talk • contribs) 13:49, 24 June 2007
Buying suggestions?
- Private question: Any suggestions which record to buy if I'm interested in getting a first taste of Funkadelic?
- Relevance of the question for the article: Maybe a list of hit singles or album sales figures would fit in nicely.

For the full effect of funk/rock state of mind (or listening), go an purchase a copy of "Standing On The Verge of Gettin' It On".....Funk up to your eyebrows....
Sleigh Bells
Malik Shabazz is being an ignorant jackass. I edited the page to note that the HUGELY POPULAR indie band Sleigh Bells sampled Funkadelic's "Can You Get to That?” for their song "Ring Ring" and he smugly and dismissively reverted the edit. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.79.87.224 (talk) 01:30, 19 February 2010 (UTC)
- There's no reason to include a list of all the bands that have sampled Funkadelic, of which there are thousands, so please don't start one. Thank you. — Malik Shabazz Talk/Stalk 03:42, 19 February 2010 (UTC)

singer with really deep voice
Can anybody tell me who the singer with the really deep voice is? He doesn't appear too often, but in "Can't Stand The Strain" he is quite prominent. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 157.161.82.203 (talk) 13:02, 14 January 2011 (UTC)
- That was Ray Davis.
