External links modified
[edit]Hello fellow Wikipedians,
I have just added archive links to one external link on Fugitive Slave Clause. Please take a moment to review my edit. You may add {{cbignore}}
after the link to keep me from modifying it, if I keep adding bad data, but formatting bugs should be reported instead. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}}
to keep me off the page altogether, but should be used as a last resort. I made the following changes:
- Attempted to fix sourcing for http://www.andrewhyman.com/due.html
When you have finished reviewing my changes, please set the checked parameter below to true or failed to let others know (documentation at {{Sourcecheck}}

"Mostly" obsolete?
[edit]The short description states "Obsolete clause of the U.S. Constitution". However the lead then foes on to note: "The enactment of the Thirteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution, which abolished slavery except as a punishment for criminal acts, has made the clause mostly irrelevant" [emphasis added]. There is also under "Legacy" the sentence: 'However, it has been noted in connection with the Fugitive Slave Clause that people can still be held to service or labor under limited circumstances; the U.S. Supreme Court stated in United States v. Kozminski, 487 U.S. 931, 943 (1988) that "not all situations in which labor is compelled by physical coercion or force of law violate the Thirteenth Amendment."' I'm therefore boldly changing the short description to "Mostly obsolete...". Martin of Sheffield (talk) 08:03, 24 August 2022 (UTC)
