Notability in question

[edit]

I did a "Google" search for "Frontline Church" and several other churches of the same name showed up higher in the list. That may be because Google gave me results tailored to where it thinks I am located. I added "Liverpool" to the search query. What I got back was almost all either first-party sources, routine coverage, or other sources that would not demonstrate WP:Notability or WP:NORG.

The two exceptions were news coverage from the early 2010s that talked about this church's stance on homosexuality:

  • Waddington, Marc. "Liverpool Frontline Church at centre of row over gay 'conversion' sessions: THE FRONTLINE Church in Liverpool is at the centre of a row over sessions it runs trying to convert gay people from homosexuality". Liverpool Echo. Retrieved 2021-01-12. Note: Local news coverage, probably does not count much in any WP:Notability assesssment.

Which is prominently paired with the church's official statement:

Another article on the same topic:

If this church IS notable, then this coverage needs to be added.

For what it's worth, Wikipedia probably has a lot of "non-notable" churches and a lot of churches that seem notable for their "historic" buildings but the buildings don't meet Wikipedia's notability guidelines for historic structures. WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS is not a reason to keep this article. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 17:15, 12 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Holding off on proposed deletion, since the charities that this church runs MAY be enough to create a "combined article" or enough to create an article about the charities then turn this into a {{R with history}} redirect to the new article. That's a "big maybe" - I have NOT done enough research to know if that's the case or not. Also, the church's campus in the old Chavasse TA Centre may be notable - or maybe not - based on its previous use (see List of drill halls in Merseyside, "Chavasse TA Centre"). The notability criteria for historic buildings is quite high, so this is an even bigger "maybe." davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 17:23, 12 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
