[edit]This might be an urban legend, but I've heard that Fritos are so oily that you can light one and use it as a small torch for a while. Dr. Sunglasses 22:49, 22 May 2006 (UTC)
- I'll have to try that some time! --Scott 05:46, 14 July 2006 (UTC)
- I wastched an episode of Survivorman last night and he used fritos to help start his fire and explained that they were like little candles, so it is true. --Scott 20:59, 15 July 2006 (UTC)
I just went outside and tried it, it works... I'll add it to the trivia section.
- It's not the oil, but the lack of moisture that makes this possible. See http://www.stretcher.com/stories/07/07dec03d.cfm for a discussion of home heating with corn. Jmdeur (talk) 13:43, 13 July 2009 (UTC)
Not highly noteworthy, but Code Monkey likes Fritos: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5W_wd9Qf0IE —Preceding unsigned comment added by Itangalo (talk • contribs) 11:44, 15 August 2010 (UTC)
Removed "Snack food preferred by people concerned about their health."
[edit]For obvious reasons (a 2 oz. bag has 31% of the RDA of fat and 320 calories. This is hardly a health food.) ChrisStansfield 19:24, 23 July 2007 (UTC)
New Flavors
[edit]I just got back from the store where I saw a new flavor. Tangy Roasted Corn. From the back of the bag: "Based on an authentic snack sold around the world, Fritos Tangy Roasted Corn Flavored Corn Chips have a savory blend of 3 simple flavors: roasted corn, mexican spices and a twist of lime." Oddly, it's not on the Fritos website. They're good, though. Marshall Stax 06:37, 5 September 2007 (UTC)

Dangling something or other?
[edit]So how does it happen that Elmer Doolin was originally named Fritatas? 140.147.236.194 (talk) 12:32, 9 October 2008 (UTC)Stephen Kosciesza
