[edit]Does their activity in Ipswich, Massachusetts really merit mention? It is a city of ~13,000. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.142.178.20 (talk) 21:18, 24 March 2013 (UTC)
including classification in the lead, where classifications are listed
[edit]the following was removed from the first paragraph of the article, where the group's classifications are listed:
Mother Jones lists an incident by the group in its chronology of American antifa violence "[1]
this is also a classification of the group (from a far left RS.) please explain how it does not belong User: Damien Linnane
should i just say that they have been classified as antifa by Mother Jones?

- Hi Mbsyl. I don't think it's necessary to name Mother Jones because they are not an established authority figure on classifying groups, they're just a magazine. I do agree FSU is an antifa organisation, my point is why do we need to clarify to the reader that MJ considers them to be one? The MJ article isn't a scholarly analysis, nor is it written by an expert in the field. This is just a listicle collection of events. If Mother Jones wrote an article about this history of Diet Coke and referred to it in passing as tasty, would you add the information "Diet Coke has been classified as a tasty beverage by Mother Jones" to the Diet Coke article?
- I reworded and moved the reference to just cover the history of FSU, which this source briefly touches on. We should be concerned about the history of FSU, not the implied classification of the group by a magazine. Does that make sense? Damien Linnane (talk) 01:39, 7 July 2019 (UTC)
- They're clearly an anti-fascist group, so are you satisfied if I just describe them as anti-fascist in the lead? :) Damien Linnane (talk) 01:56, 7 July 2019 (UTC)
- that seems very fair. thank you :) Mbsyl (talk) 06:18, 7 July 2019 (UTC)
