Design features - external torpedo tubes

[edit]

The "uniqueness" of external torpedo tubes seems somewhat questionable:

One unique feature was the use of external torpedo mounts. As well as torpdo tubes in the bow and stern, most French submarines carried torpedo tubes externally in trainable mounts, built into the outer casing.

Several dutch submarine classes also had external trainable mounts: K V and K XIV classes at least had such.MKFI (talk) 13:32, 15 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

One of the largest?

[edit]

The introduction says the French submarine fleet was "one of the largest in the world at the time." However, the article later states it ranked 5th in number of submarines. Is it really fair to say that is "one of the largest?" Rocky8u (talk) 00:09, 30 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
