Armor test

I stumbled across a mention of the tests conducted on this ship here that state that the tests impacted the design of subsequent French dreadnoughts. Docked why?

The introduction to this article says the fatal explosions occurred while the ship was "docked for repairs", and her having struck and sunk a torpedo boat suggests why this might be. However, the text of the article describes her being drydocked for hull maintenance and inspection of her shaft. Maintenance and repair are not the same thing (although they can be combined, of course); which was it? --Piledhigheranddeeper (talk) 23:19, 23 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I'd bet that they were prepared to do both, as her rudder shaft had had a perennial leaking problem. So an inspection first, then a repair if necessary.--Sturmvogel 66 (talk) 01:28, 24 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
