Lapland
[edit]Why does this article concentrate almost exclusively on the Ecuador expedition? Is there just less to say about the Lapland expedition, or is there another article on that (in which case, where)? -- Psmith (talk) 12:57, 2 June 2010 (UTC)
- This page needs to be rewritten to include both missions. Some material in Torne Valley should be moved to this page and a link only left on that page. There is a good reference in Clarke. (See Meridian arc). This article is misleading as it stands for the figure of the Earth was deduced by combining both the Peru and Lapland measurements. The Peru measurement cannot provide this alone. Could someone tackle this?
