 On hold until April 21. WikiRedactor (talk) 17:29, 14 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Introduction

[edit]
  • "Young Money Entertainment serviced "Freedom" to urban radio in the United States on November 27, 2012 and to radio in the United Kingdom the following day. The song was available for digital download starting November 2, 2012 in both the United States and Canada, before being available at later dates during November for the United Kingdom and Australia."
Maybe something shortened like "The song was released for digital download by Young Money Entertainment in the United States and Canada on November 2, 2012. It was serviced to US urban radio on November 27 and to radio in the United Kingdom the following day." This way the dates go in order and keep everything short and sweet..  Done
  • "The song achieved some success, peaking at number 17 on the UK R&B Chart, number 23 on the US Rap Songs, and number 31 on the US Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs. "Freedom" was promoted with several live performances, most notably the American Music Awards of 2012."
I'd remove the "achieved some success" part and just get straight to the peaks.  Done

Background

[edit]
  • "In September 2012, Minaj announced that she would be releasing her first box set; containing an extended play of eight new songs entitled The Re-Up, a DVD with behind-the-scenes footage, and the original Roman Reloaded."
The reissue's article now lists it as a reissue, so I would adjust this to how it is stated in the album's article: "In September 2012, Minaj announced the reissue of Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded, subtitled The Re-Up, containing an additional disc with eight newly-recording songs and an exclusive behind-the-scenes DVD to supplement the standard edition of the original album."[1] (This source cites the track listing.) Done
  • The artwork doesn't deal with "Freedom" directly, so it should probably be removed.  Done

Music video

[edit]
  • "The video goes on and shows assorted clips of nature and of Minaj. The video then transforms into color from the black-and-white theme."
"The video goes on" sounds a bit odd, I'd suggest something like "After scenes of nature and of Minaj, the video transforms into color." After all, the black and white is already mentioned a few sentences before. Done
  • "Towards the end of the video Minaj is seen with a stray-like face, walking in the wilderness, clips of Minaj singing continue throughout the video. It closes with the stairway, seen in the beginning of the video."
"Towards the end of the video" could be changed to "The video concludes as". Done

Live performances

[edit]
  • You don't need to get into her outfits and Justin Bieber. (This section would be kind of short if you removed it, so it would probably fit nicely in the introduction.)

 Done

Although I left the description of her outfits in, seeing as how they play a vital role during an artists performance.

Charts

[edit]
  • The Bubbling Under reference provided doesn't list the peak of the song, but I know that Billboard's still working out bugs on their redesign so I'll assume that it will be corrected in the near future. Done
